1. Overview
These terms and conditions set out the basis on which Maskabeh Collective makes this website and its content available to you. By browsing the site, subscribing to our newsletter, registering for a workshop or webinar, or contacting us through any of the forms provided, you accept these terms in full.
This page is placeholder copy. The wording below describes the kind of clauses the final document is expected to cover and should be replaced with text reviewed by a qualified legal advisor before the site goes live.
2. Who we are
Maskabeh Collective is a feminist collective based in Lebanon. Where these terms refer to “we”, “us” or “our”, they refer to the collective and the people who run this website on its behalf. References to “you” mean any person visiting or using the site.
Our contact details, including a postal address and an email address for enquiries about these terms, are published on the Contacts page.
3. Using this website
You may read, download and print material from this site for your own non-commercial use, and you may share links to any page. You may not republish our material as your own, sell it, or present it in a way that suggests we endorse you or your organisation.
You agree not to use the site in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its normal operation, or that attempts to gain access to areas, accounts or systems you have not been given permission to use.
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. We try to keep it available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
4. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the text, images, illustrations, publications and design of this site belong to Maskabeh Collective or to the artists, writers and photographers we work with, and are protected by copyright.
Some material is published under an open licence. Where that is the case, the licence and its conditions are stated alongside the material, and those conditions take precedence over this section.
If you believe any content on this site infringes your rights, please contact us and we will review the material promptly.
5. Workshops, webinars and events
Registering for a workshop, webinar or other activity does not guarantee a place. We will confirm your place by email, and we may close registration once an activity is full.
Some activities have a participation fee and some are free. Where a fee applies, the amount, the payment method and the refund window are stated on the registration page for that activity.
We may need to reschedule or cancel an activity. If that happens we will let registered participants know as soon as we can and, where a fee was paid, offer a transfer or a refund.
We ask everyone taking part to respect our community guidelines. We may decline or withdraw a place where someone behaves in a way that makes the space unsafe for others.
6. Newsletter and communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter we will use your email address to send you updates about our work, publications and activities. Every message includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
We do not sell or rent your contact details, and we do not share them with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Privacy and data
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it. It forms part of these terms.
8. Links to other websites
This site links to websites run by partner organisations, funders, and others whose work we reference. Those sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their handling of your data. A link is not an endorsement of everything published on the site it points to.
9. Accuracy and liability
We publish this site in good faith and take reasonable care over its content, but we do not warrant that everything on it is complete, current or free from error. Research, publications and resources are provided for information and do not constitute professional, legal or medical advice.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this site, from its unavailability, or from any material found on a site we link to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our work or in the law. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date below shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Lebanese Republic, and any dispute arising from them will be dealt with by the courts of Beirut.
12. Contact
If you have a question about these terms, please write to us using the details on the Contacts page and we will respond as soon as we are able.
